A Prayer for Single Mothers
By: Taiwana McKinney
Heavenly Father we thank you for this day that you have made. We rejoice and are glad in it. We enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise even in challenging and difficult times. We honor You for who You are. You’re our helper, our strength in weakness, our provider, our sustainer, and our peace in the midst of storms. You are our peace that surpasses all understanding. We thank You that when we have a need that we can come to You for You said that You would supply all our need according to Your riches in glory. We thank you that no lack shall come to us. Thank You that You are giving us the mind of Christ and that You are transforming us as You renew our minds daily. Let this mind be in us that is also in Christ Jesus.

Thank you that we walk by faith and not by sight and that You gently lead us as we care for our young. Help us to continue to crucify our sinful nature with its appetites and desires as You develop the fruit of the Spirit in us. May everything we do be done in love, may the joy of the Lord be our strength, may the peace of God which transcends all understanding guard our hearts and our minds through Christ Jesus, may we lay down and sleep in peace, may we not grow weary in doing good, for we will reap if we don’t give up, may we treat others the way we want to be treated, may we do good to everyone when we have the opportunity, may we be rich with blessing because we are faithful, we trust YouLord with all our heart and do not lean to our own understanding, may we operate in a spirit of gentleness. Thank you Lord, that You did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Dear Lord guide us in our relationships, and may we never feel alone because You are always with us. You said you would never leave us nor forsake us. Each day You carry us in Your arms. Help us to cast our cares upon You because You care for us. Give us a forgiving heart that we may forgive others the way that You have forgiven us. Thank You that nothing that we experience and nothing we can ever say or do can separate us from Your love. Thank You that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Help us and guide us Lord as we strive for and pursue righteousness, holiness, and godliness. Now unto Him who is able to keep us from falling and present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding great joy, to God who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion, and power, both now and forever.
Amen!
